Memorials, commemorative plaques[edit]
Memorials and commemorative plaques are very often placed in public space, and can be considered public art. They will often be documented in dedicated public art databases as well. So in many, if not most, cases it's appropriate to also describe such works with the statement genre (P136)public art (Q557141) if they have an artistic component (such as a relief sculpture).
In addition to the general data model for public artworks, described above, consider the following properties as well.

Architectural sculpture[edit]
Sculptures attached to the exterior of buildings are usually in public space, and can hence also be considered public art. They will often be documented in dedicated public art databases (example). In many, if not most, cases it's appropriate to also describe such works with the statement genre (P136)public art (Q557141).
